From Music Station, July 15 2005. Hyde cut his hair. A lot of fans were crying over this, but I happened to be rejoicing. Hyde looks amazing, practically half his age. Just... wow. When I saw this, I started giggling and unleashing the monster fangirl side of myself. He looks so super sexy karate hotass, etc. He's actually singing with a cold, but you can't really tell (although his voice is kinda quieter than usual). Anyway, he doesn't sound raspy at all, really, and he sings the song well and with enthusiasm. One of the best L'Arc performances of the year. I like "Link" better live than recorded, actually.

As One is a heavy rock song with a pacifistic message; one of my favorite tracks off the Awake album, and it's not a single! This live performance of it is just EXCELLENT, not to mention the video itself is very good quality. Hyde's looking good; more like a combination of very pretty and very badass sexy. His English (yes, not Engrish) in this song is amazing. His voice is good here too, strong and deep, very stable and powerful throughout the whole song. Except for that one line where he totally squeals... that part kind of scares me XD; But I guess he did it on purpose. Since he's so badass, you know, in his glittery skull shirt. Anyway, I love watching this live; it's entertaining, well done, and the song rocks.

What a brightly colored outfit, my good sir, for once! Why, he could be a colonial captain or the chairman of the mad tea party with that jacket. So bright, it can almost compete with Tetsu's HOT PINK PANTS. Yes yes, anyway, this is an energetic performance. Hyde's so pumped up he kicks his foot like 6 feet in the air (yeah I know you think that's impossible but whatevah Hyde has supernatural powers that surpass his height limitations). He's spinning and jumping around like mad throughout this entire performance, his hair and scarf flailing around. He pulls off the vocals well, too, though sometimes borderline yelling. Meanwhile the camera zooms in on Tetsu during the backup vocals, only to find him not singing (lipsynching?) the lines (he's doing a :| face instead). I bet he's just trying to avoid getting hit in the face by Hyde's FLAILING SCARF (better watch it, that thing serves no purpose as a scarf, but rather as a potential weapon. Though of course in the case of an attack, Hyde would have no problem stunning his enemies with his looks and then delivering a 6-foot-high kick to their faces).

This is my FAVORITE live performance of Killing Me. Trust me, that statement has EXTREME value since I have like 7 live performances of Killing Me. Anyway, in this 'Pop Jam Kobe Special,' L'Arc performed right after BoA, a popular Korean pop singer. Hyde looks so damn HOTT and BEAUTIFUL at the same time, I'm telling you, he made BoA actually look bad. When I was watching the entire special, I automatically responded, "WHOA HYDE YOU'RE SO MUCH PRETTIER THAN BOA AND SHE'S LIKE 15 YEARS YOUNGER THAN YOU." (Yeah, no offense to her, of course). Hyde's voice is nice and clear in this live, and he has tons of fun (so it seems). His outfit is simply awesome, too. I mean, honestly, so hott I can barely handle it. Dark jeans, huge shiny chain thing, leather jacket, fingerless glove, etc. He also totally ABUSES and MOLESTS the microphone. I'm telling you, he's just DRAGGING the stand across the stage with his hotass glove on; it looks so badass. Anyway, this live is simply awesome, and I love it lots.

Oh man, Hyde's bringing the fur back! This time it appears to be a giant panda, or polar bear, or something --- he's reminiscing over his Real Tour 'crack/fur addict look' days (watch Real Tour Final concert for reference). Sadly, though, despite the magic of fur and chains and nice dark gray jeans, Hyde's not sounding or looking his best: a voice subdued (maybe from a cold), and bags under his eyes from endless nights of partying (after all, this was around New Year's IIRC). That karate addict's so tired from partying that he's leaning on the microphone stand almost throughout the entire performance. At least he still appears to have good relations with the hair straightener; his hair is super long and straight here. In the end, for me, the highlights of this live (other than Hyde's bigass panda jacket) are the wild cameramen, who zoom nonstop for dramatic action effects and at about 2:30 spin the camera a COMPLETE 360 DEGREES WHOA DANGEROUS, and KEN'S VERTICAL GUITAR SOLO.

I actually like the talking segment of this. L'Arc~en~Ciel basically talks about P'unk~en~Ciel, their alter-ego. It's cute; they explain the entire concept of swtiching roles, and then there's talk on how bad Ken is at the drums XD; Anyway, everyone looks good in this live. Especially Tetsu, with that outfit (black shirt, silver tie 8D). Hyde's vocals, however, are not the best. Listening to him here makes me a bit sad... he strains his voice so much, it's almost painful to watch & listen. At the end of the live, you'll see him sigh with exhaustion. Poor guy. But I guess everyone has their bad days. He was probably very busy the night before, you know... and his vocals chords got strained out... you know what I'm sayin'? (seriously, I gotta stop with these perverted karate jokes...)

Nice colors in this one; too bad this shortened version of the song doesn't include that psychedelic downtempo part because the lights would've added nice effect (and I'm sure the cameramen would've enjoyed abusing their spinning around & upside down camera powers). Anyway, this performance is quite plain and generic, nothing spectacular sadly. Moreover, it's another RETURN OF RASPY HYDE. Hyde smooths it out for the high notes, though, and there's nice vocal teamwork between him and Tetsu. I think this song works much better infront of an audience, though, which is lacking here; there's not much energy in this performance. It feels like a rush to get it over with so Hyde can have a glass of water or lemon juice or something.

This is another file where I like the talking part xD (Trust me, that's rare; I usually find talks so boring @_@) Anyway, here, Tetsu brought his own cooked takoyaki. It's octopus (tako), and it's really HOT (temperature wise), so when you eat it (all in one bite) you're supposed to make a funny face. If you've seen the Card Captor Sakura movie, Kero-chan is in love with this kind of food. Negitakoyaki? Well, I'm just reading the little sign there :\ But ANYWAY, yeah, Hyde and the Utaban guys taste Tetsu's cooking in the beginning. It's funny, and then Hyde asks Tetsu where he bought it or something (implying that he didn't really cook it, 'cause it tastes so good or something). Anyway, the performance of Hitomi no Jyuunin is beautiful, as expected. The setting is very pretty too, with all these lights and background effects. Hyde looks a bit tired out, but his singing is alright here. Slightly raspy, but he pulls all the high notes perfect of course.

Since this is the single, it's in Japanese :D Nice performance, lots of microphone love here. During the interview, Hyde talks about his visit to London (this is just before he started working on Roentgen) and Ken talks about playing some game with an old man. I think. I don't know, I may be totally off. Hyde has totally bleached WHITE hair here and nope, he never takes his sunglasses off (he probably has big bags under his eyes from lack of sleep, because... yeah, you know, he was so busy the night before ;D) Ken's hair is so curly here o_o;; But Tetsu is by far the best part of this performance; he's wearing ALL leopard print, it's great xD And then he tries to EAT THE CAMERA halfway through. Other visible guests on this show are Do As Infinity and Gackt.

What VIBRANT lights! Flashing red everywhere! It's like the inside of a volcano, so burning! Smoke, leopard print, leather pants, molestation of the microphone, oh yes, this song is a seductive welcoming from my DNA or however it goes. All those lyrics about licking and beds and honey. This is an intense performance; every member appears to be completely focused in heavy nepenthes sound, Hyde especially so, going crazy with his wild leather pants & super straightened hair.

Fun fun, happy colorful lights to accompany this energetic performance. Hyde is in his usual dark colors. Black leather trenchcoat, black shirt, black leather pants or... in other words HOTT AS USUAL of course. I mean, what else were you expecting from MISTAH 666?! His voice is alright here, not as raspy as nowadays, but definitely a bit of unintentional raspiness in there. But, damn, just look at his hair. So beautiful. And whoa, man, that damn lucky microphone gets some lovin' here. The main highlight of this clip, though, is PEOPLE DOING THE STAY AWAY DANCE. Yeah, so if you want to learn the dance (and I know you do, because EVERYBODY should learn that dance; it is a necessity to life and no, I don't type in correct grammar), keep watching this video to see it from a different angle than shown on the PV.

So Hyde's wearing his leather and then officer Leroy comes by is all "Why I thought I told you blahblahblah" and Hyde's like "...WHATEVAH." Yeah okay. You'll have to live with VHS quality on this video, and also with the vomit color lighting (srsly man, neon green & purple for a beautiful pure wonderful magical song like Snow Drop?). But besides that, it's a nice performance. Hyde's in some variety of leather colonel suit, and despite the tightness and all the noises he must be making with each movement, he still dances around. His voice sounds so young and clear, almost better than the recorded version. Too bad for that terrible vomit lighting, though.

The performance is nothing special here. Part of it is cut out by a sumo wrestler talking about how cute Hyde is, anyway (I'm not joking... ok... maybe a bit. But there IS a sumo wrestler!) The highlight, though, (other than the awesome song of course) is HYDE'S HAT. Just look at it! It looks like a bunny is sleeping on his head or something. Besides that, the beginning of the clip is Hyde talking about why he loves winter (you really can't trust my translations, though >_>;;) and then the rest of Laruku keeps interuppting him so he tells them to shut up xD It's so cute.

Back when Hyde's voice wasn't tainted by the monster of raspiness. This video opens up with a talk segment and Ken spazzing out. Look! He's even wearing rollerblades! And of course, Florida Panthers hockey jersey! You know it's gonna be good ;D Hyde introduces Yukihiro as the new drummer, and then says that this year he hopes to do his best at work. The performance is beautiful of course, and Hyde rooks rike an anjeirz with his white ensemble and overall innocent look. Just look at that hair ;__; It's so beautiful and soft. And he really shows its softness by touching it and swinging his head around constantly. I just want to pet his head. Man, so beautiful. Besides Hyde's hair, the other highlight to this live is definitely rollerblading Ken. Check out that guitar solo; he almost crashes into Tetsu XD

Yay! Winter Fall! The talk here isn't very interesting; from what little I understand, they're talking about filming the Winter Fall PV in America (Death Valley). And then... they talk about driving? I don't know, whatever xD The performance here is very nice. I just LOVE how Hyde looks. He looks so... cute. Like he just came STRAIGHT OUT OF BED. But, trust me, he pulls the look off so well. Especially, I mean, come on, Hyde in a tie and a white button down shirt? So hott. He's totally getting close with the mike here too of course as usual. And... what's Ken doing wearing a Florida Panthers hockey jersey?! XD Whatever, man, 1998 fashion I guess.

As you can tell from the screencaps, this is during Hyde's very girlie phase where he had super long hair but not a lot of make up. Long hair, (although it's so permed and curly and dry and fake brown >_>), white shirt (yes, back when he actually wore all white instead of all black), bigass heeled shoes, and SUPER YOUNG CLEAR FRESH VOICE. The talk part here is really boring, they just explain that "L'Arc~en~Ciel" means "rainbow" in French. Anyway, I really love the performance. The stage lights and setting is really pretty, and Hyde sounds so nice. Besides, he's so pretty and he dances around a little (not to mention totally molests the microphone stand). He's just overall very... expressive. Lots of body movement. Also, back then, he had this habit of going down on his knees during performances. I don't know, whatever man, he's still awesome.

Nice screen size for such a small file! However, the large resolution doesn't really come in handy in seeing Hyde's face when the cameramen are abusing negative color and psychedelic effects o_O Geez, people, enough with the blurriness and image cascading and rainbow colors. Hyde's in a badass biker leather outfit, really into the song, he even screams randomly into the microphone and uses the trademark "Gackt Black Stone" eye movements. The grand finale (best part!) is the rose petals which shoot out from the all around the stage. BEAUTIFUL AMAZING MAGIC I LOVE IT. And it reminds me of Sailor Moon, S season, the petals which happened everytime Sailor Uranus came on screen ;__; Oh Hyde, I knew you were a sailor senshi all along. Nice BLOOD RED effect at the end. YES, BRUD, Hyde's favorite color. And then he sticks his tongue out like "omfg pwn, bow to me my daaa-lingz" and blows a kiss to the audience.

Countdown is one of those songs that's better live than recorded. Here, Hyde's voice is clear with ocassional raspiness to add to the desperate feeling. And to add to the heaviness, of course. The heavy American rock feeling of flying stealth fighter planes. He looks great too, of course, duh, that's a given, must I really elaborate? He's really working the rugged short haircut. Very nice uses of stage lighting here. It's like a heavenly light show of varying colors, as if the band were in a magical... rainbow lightning cloud o_o; Lots of cool shots of Kaz here, too. Oh man, Kaz is one badass brutha, let me tell you. He looks like a scary yakuza DJ guitarist compared to the heavenly angelic Hyde (who is dressed all in white rike an anjeirz). Anyway, impressive rendition of Countdown with some nice visuals as well.

It's hard for me to say which performance of Countdown is my favorite so far, because Hyde looks so good and sings so well in all of them XD; Hyde's looking good here, slightly tired, but hott nonetheless. Lots of closeups and ZOOMING IN RANDOMLY (this cameraman is a real maniac, probably way too mesmerized by Hyde's beauty and badass singing abilities). There's random moments when Hyde gets really passionate while singing, and opens his eyes insanely wide, making him seem really angry and demonic. Just think of live Gackt performances XD The best part of the video is towards the end, though, when Hyde's tired and sticking out his tongue. And he's wearing a leather trenchcoat here 8D And his hair is so awesome 8D And yeah Kaz is doing the actual countdown part of the song... I never knew. Fun live, download it!

This song is actually sung by Mika Nakashima, but Hyde composed the music for her in honor of her debut movie, NANA, based on the manga by Ai Yazawa. This song is the main theme for the movie, and Mika can be seen performing while wearing a signature Vivienne Westwood outfit of her character, Nana Oosaki. The song itself is wonderful; definitely a five-star song, in my opinion, and slightly reminiscent of Hyde's "Hello." Here, Mika's voice sounds a bit weak but emotional, and she looks beautiful as always. As for Hyde, well... DAMN HE LOOKS HOTT. OH YEAH. His hair is in a crazy spiky style... sort of like Ren's hair, the guy who plays Nana's boyfriend. UH OH HYDE are you implying something?! Anyway, this is a badass performance. Hyde is finally the rock band guitarist he always wished he was. He even JUMPS OVER THE SPEAKER for his solo.

Just for that one smile at the end (or whatever you want to call that hotass sex expression), I love this video so much. The performance is alright, pretty good, Hyde's get somewhat violent and hits himself in the head. Alright, it's just for dramatic effect and goes well with the symbols, I know. Really expressive emotions in this one, I love it. Lots of anger and intensity. The lighting is well done; there's a heavenly light behind Hyde, making him seem like an unearthly god or anjeirz (which he is, of course). Awesome song, too :D Afterwards, in the credits, Hyde is holding a sign (and his guitar, still) 8D WTF I love this guy.

Hyde's wearing some nice fashions, I must say. His voice is raspy like mad & somewhat nasal, however, so the aesthetics in this performance are almost more pleasing than the sound (BUT then again, it's Hello, so even with scratchy vocals Hello is leik the best Hyde song ever omgah). The cameramen aren't very exciting in this performance, and the lights sometimes display Hyde's facial imperfections (BLASPHEMOUS.) Hiroki is still having a wild field day in the background, though. The highlight of this performance, aside from the Hyde's look, is the 'mezameta no saa' part... even with rasped-out vocals, Hyde still manages to sound badass at that part (I think you can partially thank the brud red lighting for that).

Let me say, I love every performance of Hello. It's my favorite Hyde song ever. Unfortunately, Hyde's voice isn't that great in this rendition of it. Yeah, sorry folks. He looks great, you gotta love that outfit, and the hair is my favorite style & color for him too. The eye makeup's all there, also. In fact, he's looking really HOTT altogether. But the voice... just overdoing the raspiness a bit. Anyway, the stage is funky for this song; chains everywhere, it really has a grunge feeling. But, for me, the best part of this entire video (other than Hyde himself of course) is the CAMERAMEN. There was even a director for this video. Anyway, the cameramen are just going WILD here, zooming in and out like mad, and spinning around, making shapes with their cameras, going in circles, and then suddenly they add this slow motion psychedelic drugged up effect. It's a mad rock tea party in that studio (uh oh, maybe that would explain Hyde's raspiness. Listen man, drugs & karate are a deadly combination.)

Hyde has blonde hair, so that means it's time to sing Engrish :D Actually, hair color doesn't even matter for Hyde. Anyway, this is a cover of a WHAM! song, and I like this version lots better than the original. Hyde looks cute with his blonde hair, and has a hot outfit to back it up 8D~ Very nice outfit indeed. My favorite line of his is "PRIZ stay~" XD;; But no, in actuality, he sings this song very well. Even the Engrish. I was expecting Hyde to play the sax in this... but I'm glad he didn't XD By the way, Tomoe Shinohara (that wild hyper girl) is on backup vocals here.
